Coming into Saturday, the Hurricanes are the class of the Metropolitan Division. They have the second-best division, not just in the Eastern Conference, but in the entire NHL, as they sit atop the Metro with 80 points, seven back of the Boston Bruins. They were originally scheduled to play this game during the 2020-21 season, but it had to be postponed due to the COVID pandemic. On the other side, the Capitals are no strangers to playing without a roof over their heads. This will be Washington’s fourth outdoor game in their history, and first since beating the Toronto Maple Leafs in Annapolis in March 2018. The Caps are one of two teams to have played three or more contests outdoors, and have yet to lose. Only the New York Rangers (4-0) have that distinction.
